Senior cabinet ministers, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, and Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, have hailed the newly introduced GST reforms, calling them a landmark move to improve the ease of living and doing business in the country.
External Affairs Minister Jaishankar described the GST Council’s decision to adopt the Next-Gen GST as a “historic achievement,” stating that it will significantly contribute to India’s transformation journey and the government's efforts to simplify life for citizens and businesses.
Home Minister Amit Shah echoed this sentiment, calling the tax rate cuts and structural reforms a “historic decision.” He said the reforms will provide substantial relief to the poor and middle class, while also supporting farmers, MSMEs, women, and youth.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the reforms for enhancing ease of living, strengthening the business environment, and empowering small enterprises. He emphasized their role in advancing India’s self-reliance under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal also lauded the GST reforms, stating that the decision reinforces the government’s commitment to the vision of “Viksit Bharat.”
