Investigation against SpaceX in case of discrimination, sexual harassment

San Francisco, 07 February. SpaceX, run by Elon Musk, is being investigated in the US for discrimination and sexual harassment.

Seven former employees alleged that SpaceX executives joked about sexual harassment and fired employees for speaking out, according to multiple reports.

The California Department of Civil Rights is now investigating employee complaints that SpaceX executives discriminated against women.

In SpaceX's complaints, employees cite a pattern of discrimination as well as inappropriate tweets from Musk, which they said they could not easily avoid. He uses the platform to make important company announcements.

According to a filing reviewed by Bloomberg, a former employee said she was accused of being overly emotional in her performance review and suggested she should be more polite because she had received a negative response from a male colleague at her job. Concern was expressed over taking credit for.

The same agency is also suing Tesla for operating a racially segregated workplace.

SpaceX or Musk have not yet commented on the investigation.

The employees previously accused SpaceX of illegally firing them in a complaint to the US National Labor Relations Board.

Earlier, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) sued Tesla for operating what it described as a racially segregated workplace in California.

DFEH Director Kevin Kish said in a statement that, after receiving hundreds of complaints from employees, DFEH found evidence that Tesla's Fremont factory is a racially segregated workplace, where Black workers face racial slurs and Discrimination occurs in job assignments, discipline, pay, and promotions, leading to a disruptive work environment.
