Dispute over 10 rupees, Friend killed by his own friend

Siliguri: In West Bengal's Siliguri, a youth allegedly thrashed his friend to death with a stone over ten rupees. The police gave this information on Thursday. Officials said that the body of 20-year-old Ramprasad Saha was found in the forests of Baikunthpur on Wednesday.

During the investigation, it was found that Saha was a victim of drug addiction and used to regularly go to the jungles to calm his cravings. According to the police, on Monday, Saha had gone to the forest with two of his friends - Subrata Das (22) and Ajay Roy (24), who are themselves drug addicts.

Officials said that an inebriated Saha found that he had no money. He asked Subrata for ten rupees to buy more drugs. According to the police, a fight started between Saha and Subrata over the demand of money. During this, Subrata brutally killed Saha by thrashing him with a stone. Police said that Subrata and Ajay were arrested on Wednesday night by the officials of Siliguri Metro Police's Ashighar outpost. The police said that they are probing Ajay's role in the case.
