Applications are invited for the recruitment of twelve (12) Research Associate (RA) positions purely on temporary basis at the

Theoretical Statistics and Mathematics Division (TSMD) of the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI). The selected candidates would be placed in Category

I, II and III depending on the qualification and experience as per the DST OM No.SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated 30 January 2019.

Qualification : Ph.D. degree with at least one publication in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) Journal. Those who have

submitted their thesis may also apply.

Associates in all areas ofstatistics and mathematics. Researchers, especially those with a recent Ph.D. degree,

Pay : Consolidated monthly emoluments of `47000/- (Rupees forty seven thousand only), `49000/- (Rupees forty

nine thousand only) and `54000/- (Rupees fifty four thousand only) plus HRA as per rules of the Institute

per month depending on the qualification and experience in the three categories respectively.

Tenure of appointment : The tenure of appointment will be initially for one year from the date of his/her joining the Institute which

may be extended later/ terminated earlier, depending on availability of funds and performance of the

candidate. Based on performance of the candidate, the term of research associateship can be up to a maximum

of two years.

Timeline of application : Applicants can apply at any time of the year. Applications will typically be processed depending on the

availability and need of the individual Units. At any given time point each unit shall have at most 4 such
