Faculty / Directorate
The Directorate of Engagement is responsible for a variety of external engagement for the university, primarily this falls into four categories; our alumni engagement, our civic engagement, our strategic, collaborative and community partnerships and our fundraising. DMU is embedded within its locality and committed to regular and sustained engagement with the people and organisations within our local communities.
It is an exciting time for the Directorate as we recently launched our new Engagement Strategy which aligns our work to the new Empowering University strategy which seeks to empower our students, staff and partners to create a fairer society. We are committing to increasing our fundraising and alumni engagement to support the new direction of the university and to establish partnerships with purpose that support the delivery of our vision and mission.
Role
We are seeking an Alumni Engagement Manager to join our Development and Alumni Engagement Team and lead on all Alumni Engagement activity, reporting into the Deputy Director of Development and Alumni Engagement. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an ambitious and driven new team as we embark on a new strategy to build engagement and philanthropic support for DMU.
As the Alumni Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for the growth and facilitation of our alumni networks – locally, nationally and globally. You will develop and deliver an engagement programme that includes both online and face-to-face engagement opportunities. Digital activity will include leading on the content strategy for our alumni hub as well as in-person events on campus, around the UK and overseas, engaging and connecting our alumni communities.
You will coordinate volunteer opportunities and engagement opportunities for Alumni to give back to DMU and will collaborate with Fundraising Manager to develop and implement fundraising strategies to increase alumni participation in fundraising.
Ideal Candidate
To succeed in this role, you will have: Experience of successfully delivering supporter engagement programmes in a Higher Education setting or leading national organisation, excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to think strategically and creatively to develop innovative engagement programs that align with DMU’s mission and values.
