Deepan Sivaraman is a theatre director, scenographer, dramaturge and educator based in Delhi. He graduated in MA Scenography from Central Saint Martins College of Art in Design in 2004 and taught theatre design and performance making for five years at various University of the Arts London colleges.

His practice-based PhD ''Spatial identities and visual language in Indian theatre'' from Wimbledon College of Art London explores the possibility of an interactive visual language, alternative to word based drama. Presently Deepan is the Dean and Associate Professor at School of Culture and Creative Expressions, Ambedkar University Delhi.

Deepan is the founding Artistic Director of Oxygen Theatre Company based in Kerala that has produced some of the most innovative works in Indian theatre in the recent history. In his return to India in 2013 Deepan established a practice based research group for younger people called Performance Studies Collective based in Delhi that produces cutting edge theatre productions exploring the language of scenography. During the last 20 years of his theatre career he has designed and directed more than 70 theatre productions for various companies and academic institutions in India and Europe.
