The new release date for "Adipurush," starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, is announced by Om Raut

A new release date for the Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan blockbuster "Adipurush" was announced on social media.

The revised release date was revealed by Om Raut on Twitter.

He wrote, "Jai Shri Ram...#Adipurush launches IN THEATRES on June 16, 2023," while providing more information.

He also posted a picture with the caption: "Adipurush is not a movie, but rather a symbol of our commitment to our sanskriti and history as well as our devotion to Prabhu Shri Ram. We must give the teams working on the film additional time if we want to provide the spectators with a fully immersive visual experience. The new release date for Adipurush is June 16, 2023. We are dedicated to producing a movie that would make India proud. Your encouragement, love, and blessings enable us to continue "

'Adipurush' the mega Indian film produced by T Series and Retrophiles, directed by ॐ Raut is a visual extravaganza which was slated to release on January 12, 2023. Now it will hit the theatres on June 16, 2023.The film stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles. The film is based on the Indian Epic Ramayana. Prabhas plays Lord Ram while Saif stars as the antagonist Lankesh in the movie.

The film has been mired in controversy ever since its teaser was unveiled. The teaser courted major backlash over the looks of Saif's fierce Ravana who is shown sporting a beard and a buzz cut. Many people across the country slammed the makers for allegedly hurting their religious sentiments. In fact, a Hindu seers body, Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti, has sought the formation of a Sanatan Censor Board alleging improper depiction of Hindu Gods and Goddesses in Bollywood movies.

Additionally, a Delhi court has just heard a request for an order to prevent the release of the movie. According to the complaint, Adipurush misrepresented Lord Rama and Hanuman by having them wear leather straps, which was unjustified and wrong. Raj Gaurav, an attorney, has filed a complaint against producers Om Raut and Bhushan Kumar.
