We are seeking a research assistant to work up to 9 hours per week
between August 2022 and January 2023 to undertake directed research as
part of an externally funded project "Covid-19 and the Dynamics of Group
Blame: Lessons Learnt and Future Implications." This is an exciting
opportunity for a current postgraduate researcher or similar to develop
their skills, experience, and profile across all aspects of a research
project.
You will work with the support of the principal investigator to examine
how blame for Covid-19 has been attributed in media and public
discourses. There are different strands to the project but you will be
involved in supporting research activities including preparing
literature reviews, media discourse analysis, and social media analysis.
You, therefore, should have experience of discourse analysis and/or
extracting and analyzing data from social media.
The hours stated above are to support the first phase of data collection
and analysis, between August 2022 and January 2023, but there is an
opportunity for the post to be extended to also work on research outputs.
Working on a casual basis you will be paid £13.08 per hour, which
includes an element of holiday pay. The workload is flexible and can be
completed remotely.
