ICJ will give interim verdict on Genocide case against Israel

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) will give its verdict on South Africa's petition in the genocide case against Israel. South African officials have already reached The Hague in the Netherlands, which is the headquarters of the ICJ.

South Africa had raised the issue of Israel-Hamas war before the ICJ and accused Israel of genocide in Gaza. During the hearing, Israel rejected the charge of genocide and said in its defense that the charge had been distorted.

Israel said it had the right to defend itself and was targeting Hamas, which invaded its territory on October 7, unleashing brutality and killing 1,200 people. Israel also said that 240 people were abducted and held hostage by Hamas in Gaza.
