On Monday, actress Priyanka Chopra spoke before the UN General Assembly and went into great detail on the issues the globe is now dealing with.
As she took the podium, she declared that "global solidarity" was more important than ever.In addition to meeting Malala Yousafzai, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, Priyanka Chopra spoke at the event and focused on the COVID-19's negative impacts.
"As countries struggle to recover from the devastating COVID-19 pandemic, as the climate crisis upends people's lives and livelihoods, as conflicts rage, and as poverty displacement, hunger, and inequalities destroy the very foundation of the more just world that we have fought for so long," the speaker said.
Added she, "And as we are all aware, things in the world are not good. These crises, however, did not occur by random and may be resolved with a strategy. We have that strategy. The UN Sustainable Goals are a global to-do list."
"Walking through the gates of the United Nations this morning to speak at UNGA for the second time, as a proud representative of @unicef, gave me true pause," Priyanka said on Instagram to express her thanks.
She continued by highlighting how crucial sustainable development is in the present era. She penned, "The Sustainable Development Goals are the most important item on this year's agenda. Today was all about achieving goals and fostering hope. We don't have much time left to accomplish the SDGs, so we must work together to do it. Thank you very much for having me today, Secretary-General @antonioguterres."
It's crucial to note that Priyanka serves as the UNICEF organization's worldwide goodwill ambassador. She has been employed by the company for more than ten years.
In the meantime, Priyanka will appear in international films like "It's All Coming Back To Me" and the television series "Citadel." 'Citadel,' a Russo Brothers production, will debut on Prime Video OTT. Patrick Morgan is helming the next science fiction drama series, which also features Richard Madden and Priyanka.
She will appear in Farhan Akhtar's "Jee Le Zaraa," a Bollywood film, alongside Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif. The film, which is a continuation of the popular masterpieces "Dil Chahta Hai" and "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara," promises to be another story of friendship. According to reports, "Jee Le Zaraa" would begin production in September 2022 and be ready for distribution in the summer of 2023.
