The pictures of the students thrashed by the Delhi police is not a welcome sign. In a democracy every one has right to protest till the time he is not using illegal means. The students are protesting for different issues of JNU which is their right.
Off late we have seen governments trying to curb free speech and expression at different places and by different institutions. At times common people are also involved, motivated to stop the flow of free expression of thoughts.
Students protest is one way of expressing dissent on the matter of public importance but the intensity of the protest must also be carefully selected. The similar incidents of students protest in Hong Kong has now damaged the economy and the most affected population will be the students.
The political interference in the students issues are also killing the agitations as the government see it as act of a political party and does things which harm the student fraternity.
