In Arunachal Pradesh, Indian Army in collaboration with Government of Arunachal Pradesh and North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) today organised a cycling expedition from Namsai to Namti which is a part of month-long commemoration of 62nd Walong Day.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein flagged off the Cycling Expedition at Namsai. The Three day cycling journey starts from the Golden Pagoda at Namsai, riding through Wakro, the holy site of Parshuram Kund, vibrant village of Hayuliang and will finally finish at Namti, also known as the ‘Tigers Mouth’, a site of historic significance where troops of the Indian Army stalled the adversaries offensive.
The cyclists comprise enthusiasts from Indian Army including Lady Officers, ITBP, youth and young ladies of Arunachal and two cyclists from Pune. The expedition will provide an excellent opportunity for all participants to pay homage to our brave soldiers who had made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the nation. During the course of their journey, the cyclists will interact with the locals enroute while enjoying the mesmerising beauty of the Lohit Valley.
