New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Wednesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government that there is a growing possibility of the country breaking up due to the intentions and policies of the Narendra Modi government. He also criticized the government for "growing economic disparity and promoting polarization on the basis of religion, caste and language". Addressing the media here, All India Congress Committee General Secretary (Communication) Ramesh said that the Congress is often asked why the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' is being taken out when no one is breaking the country.

He said, "I want to say this clearly that there is a clear danger of disintegration of the country. Due to the policies and intentions of the Modi government, there is growing apprehension about the disintegration of India. "He said," Firstly, the economic disparity is increasing... inflation, unemployment, unfair GST (Goods and Services Tax). Centralization of power, control of one or two capitalists over the economy. Economic disparity is increasing and due to this, the possibility of breaking up India is also increasing.

Ramesh accompanied Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during the Haryana leg of 'Bharat Jodo Yatra'. The yatra entered the state of Haryana on Wednesday morning. During this, he alleged that the ideology of RSS (Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh) and BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) has always been divisive and social polarization has been a strategy for them to win elections. Ramesh alleged that the Modi government was weakening constitutional institutions.

He alleged that political dictatorship has now become a reality and the Constitution is being ignored. He also alleged that constitutional institutions are being weakened and tension is being created between the government and the judiciary. Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Modi, Ramesh said that travel is not the 'Mann Ki Baat' of any one person. He alleged that efforts are being made by the Prime Minister and the Prime Minister's Office to take over all the institutions.

Attempts are being made to take possession of it.

The Congress general secretary said that the yatra has nothing to do with the elections of 2023 and 2024. He said that Sonia Gandhi had declared that this is not a 'chunaav jeeto' or 'chunaav jitao' yatra. Attacking the BJP-JJP (Jannayak Janata Party) government in Haryana, Ramesh said that there were more than 350 potholes on the 14 km road from Nuh, where the yatra began on Wednesday morning. He said, "I have not seen such a bad condition of roads here in any other state. The BJP has been in power in the state for eight years and today we walked on potholes, not on roads.''

Ramesh also said that taking forward the success of this yatra, Congress will take out another campaign 'Hath Se Hath Jodo Yatra' from January 26 to March 26. He said that in this campaign, travel will be done at block and booth levels. He said that during the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' the 'real' Rahul Gandhi appeared before the public. Ramesh said that Rahul Gandhi will meet farmers and sportspersons in the Haryana leg of the yatra.

On the question of between the leaders of the Haryana unit of the Congress, Congress leader and in-charge of the party's Haryana affairs, Shaktisinh Gohil said that former chief ministers Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Kumari Selja, and Randeep Singh Surjewala were accompanying Rahul in the yatra and there was no one in the party. There is no factionalism. He said that there is internal democracy in Congress, but no one breaks the discipline of which he is proud.
