NSA Ajit Doval and the late CDS Gen. Rawat, among others, will receive the Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman

This year's recipients of the "Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman" include former Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval.

Prasoon Joshi, the chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification, Girish Chandra Tiwari, a.k.a. "Girda," and the late Viren Dangwal are the other recipients of the honour.

According to the Chief Minister's Office, this year's recipients of the "Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman" award (2022) were NSA Ajit Kumar Doval, Prasoon Joshi, Late General Bipin Rawat (posthumously), Late Girish Chandra Tiwari "Girda," and Late Viren Dangwal (CMO).

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami praised all of the award winners and expressed thanks on behalf of the entire state's citizens to these outstanding sons of Devbhoomi.

He wrote in Hindi, "On behalf of all the people of the state, I extend my thanks towards these wonderful sons of 'Devbhoomi', who raised the fame flag of Uttarakhand throughout the world via their pioneering achievements in numerous fields of social life.

Along with the Uttarakhand Ratna, the Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman is one of the state's two highest honours for civilians. It is given to someone who has made an exceptional contribution to any area of human endeavour.

It was established by the Uttarakhand government in 2021. In 2021, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami established the prize. On November 9, 2021, the state's 21st birthday, it was formally established.
