Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his thoughts on the Maha Kumbh in a blog post on Thursday , reflecting on its significance and the unity it symbolized. He described the event as the conclusion of the "Maha Yagya of unity" and praised the awakening of national consciousness, saying that the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, which began on January 13, symbolized a nation breaking free from centuries of slavery mentality and breathing with new consciousness.

In his post, PM Modi also referenced his speech on January 22, 2024, during the Praan Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, where he spoke about patriotism through devotion to God. The Prime Minister noted that during the Maha Kumbh, people from all walks of life—gods, saints, children, women, and youth—came together, embodying the collective faith of 140 crore Indians. He emphasized that this Maha Kumbh was not only a religious event but also a manifestation of national unity.

He further highlighted the sacred region of Shringaverpur in Prayagraj, where Lord Shri Ram and Nishadraj met, calling it a symbol of devotion, harmony, and unity in India's history. He reflected on how, for the past 45 days, lakhs of people from across the country had traveled to the banks of the Sangam, where the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati energized devotees with enthusiasm, faith, and energy.

The Prime Minister also acknowledged that the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj had become a case study for modern management professionals, planners, and policy experts, noting that no other event in the world could compare to its scale. The record-breaking number of people attending the event in Prayagraj set a new benchmark, but he also pointed out how those who couldn’t attend were equally emotionally connected to the event. He recalled how many devotees took the sacred water of the Triveni Tirtha back to their villages, spreading the spiritual significance of the Kumbh to millions.

Prime Minister Modi further noted the historical importance of the Maha Kumbh tradition in strengthening India's national consciousness over thousands of years. He spoke about how sages and saints would deliberate on societal conditions during the Purna Kumbh, offering new guidelines for the country. He explained that, over time, the traditions of the Kumbh evolved, with outdated practices being discarded and modern ideas embraced.

The Prime Minister highlighted that the 144-year gap since the last Maha Kumbh brought forth new messages from sages and saints, with a focus on India's journey toward development. He concluded by emphasizing that just as the Maha Kumbh of unity brought together people from all regions, castes, and ideologies, India must now unite for the "Maha Yagya of a developed India."
