PM Modi to attend Assam CM oath ceremony

Himanta Biswa Sarma will be sworn in as the Chief Minister of the northeastern state of Assam for the second consecutive term today.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will attend the swearing-in ceremony.

Along with Sarma, a few others are likely to take the oath as ministers.

Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, who formally appointed Sarma as Chief Minister on Sunday, will administer the oath of office and secrecy to him and the new council of ministers.
