President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various projects at Rashtrapati Niketan in Dehradun, Uttarakhand today. During the visit, Smt. Murmu will also lay the foundation stone of the President's Park.
President Droupadi Murmu will attend the inauguration of Rashtrapati Niketan and Rashtrapati Tapovan in Dehradun today. Notably, Rashtrapati Niketan and Rashtrapati Tapovan will be opened to the general public from June 24. In addition, Smt. Murmu will also lay the foundation stone of the 132-acre President's Park. This garden is expected to be completed within a year and will be dedicated to the public.
Rashtrapati Niketan, which spans 21 acres, was earlier known as Rashtrapati Aashiyana. It was previously used by the President's Bodyguards for training PBG horses. Once opened to the public, visitors will have the opportunity to see the stables and horses of the President's Bodyguard, along with a collection of artifacts in this heritage building. On the other hand, Rashtrapati Tapovan, spread across 19 acres, will offer the public a chance to experience native tree canopies, winding trails, wooden bridges, and serene spaces designed for contemplation and meditation.
