Today, Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu evaluated the progress of several government of India projects being implemented in Andhra Pradesh. When he met with the concerned ministers, he suggested hasty project implementation.
The Vice President was briefed about the forthcoming Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC), a coastal corridor project funded by the National Industrial Corridor Program, during a meeting with the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, today. The program's goal is to create futuristic industrial cities in India that can compete with the greatest places in the world for industry and investment.
The projected greenfield petrochemical plant at Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, was also discussed with Shri Naidu by Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs and Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The vice president advocated for accelerating the project and for the early resolution of any outstanding concerns. The status of several housing, SMART City, and AMRUT projects approved for the state was also examined with the Minister.
Shri Naidu later met with Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Minister of Tourism and Culture, to discuss the development of Heritage Cities in the state as well as the state's numerous tourism circuits. Following a status update on the projects, Shri Naidu gave Shri Reddy advice on how to speed up the completion of the outstanding tasks.
