Kathua/Jammu: Bharat Jodo Yatra of Congress is getting a lot of headlines these days. Rahul Gandhi himself is leading this yatra. The 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' resumed on Sunday morning from Hiranagar in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district amid tight security in the wake of twin blasts in Jammu on Saturday. After a day's rest, around 7 am from Hiranagar near the international border on the Jammu-Pathankot highway. Security forces and Police have sealed the entire highway.

Accompanied by Congress' Jammu and Kashmir unit president Vikar Rasool Wani, working president Raman Bhalla and hundreds of volunteers holding the tricolor, Rahul entered Tapyal-Gagwal in Samba district after crossing the Londi check post at around 8 am. During this, he was welcomed by enthusiastic workers and supporters standing on both sides of the road. After covering a distance of about 25 kilometers on Sunday, 'Bharat Yatri' will take a night's rest at Chak Nanak.

On Monday morning, he will proceed towards Jammu from Vijaypur in Sathe MBA. Adequate security arrangements have been made for Rahul and the police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and other security agencies are keeping a close watch to ensure a peaceful march, officials said. Security has been beefed up across the Union Territory in the wake of twin blasts on Saturday in Narwal, on the outskirts of Jammu city. Nine people were injured in these blasts.

Police suspect that an IED was used to blast an SUV parked at a shop in Transport Nagar area of Narwal and a vehicle at a nearby scrap yard. These blasts have taken place at a time when security agencies are on high alert in view of the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' of the Congress in Jammu and Kashmir and the upcoming Republic Day celebrations. The 'Bharat Jodo Yatra', which started on September 7, 2022, from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu, entered Jammu and Kashmir from Punjab on Thursday. This padayatra will end in Srinagar on January 30, 2023, when Rahul Gandhi will unfurl the tricolor at the Congress headquarters there.
