PM Modi recently flagged off the world's longest river cruise 'MV Ganga Vilas' in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi. Now Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government on this issue. In fact, Akhilesh on Saturday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of making false claims about the longest river cruise 'MV Ganga Vilas' flagged off, adding that he has come to know that such service has been running for 17 years.

Speaking to reporters after attending the death anniversary of party leader Manoj Kumar Pandey's mother here, the SP president said, "This ship is running for the last several years. This is not new, so someone has informed me that it has been going on for 17 years." Whether it is a 'bar' or not, only BJP members can tell." Significantly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday flagged off the world's longest river cruise 'MV Ganga Vilas' from Varanasi.

River running vessel 'MV Ganga Vilas' left on its maiden voyage. It will travel about 3,200 kilometers in its journey of 51 days. During this, it will cross 27 river systems in India and Bangladesh and reach Dibrugarh in Assam via Bangladesh. According to an official statement, this cruise has three decks with all luxury facilities, 18 suites with a capacity of 36 tourists. On the first trip of this cruise, 32 tourists from Switzerland have left.
