Hobart, 08 February. Australian T20 captain Mitch Marsh will give instructions to his teammates from a distance during the opening T20 match against West Indies on Friday. This requirement arises due to their positive COVID-19 test result.

According to the report, Marsh will play despite testing positive for Covid on the eve of the series opener and will follow Cricket Australia protocols, which include working out of a separate dressing room and maintaining distance on the field.

This is the third such instance of Covid in the Australian camp in recent matches, with both Josh Inglis and Cameron Green also making their place in the Australian team despite being Covid positive.

Both were kept away from teammates during the national anthem, with Green even kept away from wicket celebrations during the Gabba Test against the West Indies due to his Covid-19 positive status.
