The Meteorological Department has attributed this to the lack of strong western disturbances in November and December.

It will rain in Rajasthan from 28-29

According to the Meteorological Department, on January 28-29 in Rajasthan, another western disturbance will be active in most parts of the state. Due to its effect, there is a strong possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder at some places in the districts of Udaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Jodhpur, and Jaipur divisions on January 28. In-charge of Jaipur center Radheshyam Sharma told that on January 26, the weather will be mainly dry in most parts of the state. However, there is a possibility of a partly cloudy sky in some parts of the Kota and Bharatpur divisions. Dense fog can also be recorded at some places in the eastern and northern parts in the morning.

265 roads closed in Himachal

Fresh snowfall closed 265 roads in Himachal Pradesh's Lahaul and Spiti, Chamba, Kinnaur, Shimla, and Kullu districts, while several other parts of the state received heavy rain on Wednesday. According to the Meteorological Department, there has been an increase of three to five degrees in the minimum temperature in the state. Keylong was the coldest place in the state, where the minimum temperature at night was minus 4.7 degrees Celsius.

Fresh snowfall reduced visibility to 500 meters at most places in Kashmir, affecting flight services in the Valley on Wednesday. Light to moderate snowfall was recorded at most places in Kashmir, while higher reaches received heavy snowfall. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the intensity of rain will decrease as the day progresses. Officials said that there was a delay in the movement of all flights at Srinagar airport.

Although there was not much snow accumulation at the airport, flight operations were affected as visibility dropped to 500 meters. He said that the operation of the planes will be restored when the visibility is at least 1000 meters. The local Meteorological Department office has predicted rain in the area till January 30.

Torrential rain in Uttarakhand on 29

According to the department, another western disturbance will affect the area from Friday night. A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Northwest India from 28. It will cause light to moderate and torrential rain or snowfall in the western Himalayan region. In January, there will be light to moderate or scattered rains over the plains of North-West India. Heavy rain or snowfall and isolated hailstorm may occur at isolated places in the Western Himalayan region. There is a possibility of torrential rains in Uttarakhand on 29 January 2023.
