A statement by West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose has heated up the politics of the state. In fact, on Monday, St. Xavier's University of Kolkata had given Honorary Degree of D.Litt to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Giving him the title with his own hand, the Governor compared him with former President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
First know what the governor said
Governor CV Anand Bose said in his address – Dr. Radhakrishnan was a brilliant professor, thinker and writer. We have personalities like APJ Abdul Kalam who wrote Wings of Fire for the youth and inspired the youth with his pen. We had Atal Bihari Vajpayee, whose team included Mamata Banerjee. Apart from being in politics, he was also a writer. As a resident of West Bengal, it is a matter of pride for us that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is also following this tradition.
In response, the BJP compared Saddam Hussain and Mao Zedong
There is maximum displeasure in the BJP on the Governor's statement. Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Suvendu Adhikari said – The Governor was speaking in such a way as if he was preparing to read the speech of the budget session of the Assembly. He said – Adolf Hitler, Mussolini, Saddam Hussain and Mao Zedong have also written books. But all of them are guilty of human rights abuses.
He said- I partially agree with the governor's statement. Mamata Banerjee can be like Winston Churchill, who is considered responsible for the 1943 Bengal famine. It was a genocide of sorts, in which more than four million people died of hunger and malnutrition.
TMC replied
Trinamool Congress (TMC) Rajya Sabha MP Shantanu Sen said- BJP is so jealous that it is not able to see the governor and chief minister working together for the betterment of the state. Sen alleged that the BJP used the Raj Bhavan as its party office when Jagdeep Dhankhar was the governor. The current governor is doing fair work. They are not running according to the BJP.
