Delhi's Chandni Chowk wholesale bazaar is still being destroyed by a sizable fire

Attempts are being made to put out the large fire that erupted in the national capital's Bhagirath Palace market's shops last night, but it was still burning on Friday morning.

Atul Garg, director of the Delhi Fire Service, reports that there are numerous firefighting units on the scene attempting to put out the fire. As of yet, no casualties have been reported.

In the early hours of Friday, the official said that the "situation is not very good" while also informing that a major part of the building has been damaged.

"The situation is not very good as of now. 40 fire tenders are present at the spot. The fire will be brought under control by morning.

According to the fire department, the call regarding the fire was received at 9:19 pm on Thursday following which the fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
