According to the Meteorological Department, for the next two days, many states of the country will be in trouble due to cold waves and fog. There will be an outbreak of cold waves in Punjab, Haryana, and North Rajasthan for the next two days. On the other hand, there will be an outbreak of fog in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Bihar, West Bengal, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Sikkim, Manipur, Tripura, and Uttar Pradesh. This estimate from December 23 to December 25 has been made by the Meteorological Department.
For this reason, orders have been given to open the schools from 1st to 12th class in district Gautam Buddha Nagar from 9 am. District Magistrate Suhas LY has issued this order for all the schools in the Gautam Budh Nagar district. The Lucknow district administration has also issued orders to open all schools up to class eight from 10 am to 3 pm in view of the cold wave.
According to the report of the Zonal Meteorological Center, Lucknow, most of the areas in the eastern parts of the state were covered with fog in the morning in many areas of the western parts. A drop in temperature was also recorded during the last 24 hours.
During the last 24 hours, a considerable drop in day temperature has been recorded in the Moradabad and Meerut divisions of the state. Apart from this, a drop in maximum temperature was also recorded in Prayagraj, Bareilly, Moradabad, Ayodhya, Kanpur, and Bareilly.
According to the report, there was a significant drop in the night temperature in the Kanpur division, while the minimum temperature remained almost normal in the rest of the state's divisions. Fursatganj was the coldest place in the state during this period, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 4.9 degrees Celsius. Due to the fall in the maximum temperature, the freezing cold was felt even during the day.
Normal life has been affected due to the fog. The state government has taken an important decision regarding the operation of buses in view of the dense fog. According to State Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh, senior officials of the Transport Corporation have been instructed to suspend night bus services if dense fog is falling.
According to railway sources, due to dense fog in the state, many long-distance trains are running late by several hours.
