Lucknow DM orders, school van drivers who have met with an accident to be sacked

Lucknow (Bureau). DM Suryapal Gangwar held a meeting regarding road safety month. Which he directed that the public should be made aware by running a special campaign on road safety and strict action should be taken against illegal vehicles, overloading, etc. while running an intensive checking campaign. Along with this, he also issued instructions on many other points including school vehicles.

Be monitored regularly

Instructions have also been given by the DM that whatever instructions have been given, whether they are being followed or not, it should also be monitored. From time to time, they themselves would meet and take an update as to how many instructions have been complied with so far and how many have not.

Make public aware

Clear instructions have been given by the DM that people should be informed about the rules related to road safety. For this, awareness programs should be organized at different levels. He also said that awareness about road safety should also be spread through street plays in public places.

In view of the fog, all concerned departments like Public Works Department, Development Authority, etc. should ensure the marking of the center line of their respective roads. Marking should also be done on the sideline of the road.

• All concerned departments should get caution-related signage like school ahead, keep the speed slow, etc. installed on their roads.

• Instructions were given to the District School Inspector that skill training should be done for the drivers of all the schools. A guideline should be issued that if any school driver has an accident, the school management should inform the DIOS and relieve that driver.

• A toll-free WhatsApp number should be issued, in which common people can provide information about the cause of the accident, such as bad road or accident due to stray animals, etc. along with the location.
