A senior NIA official said that this raid has been done in view of the plan of PFI leaders to reorganize the organization with some other name. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) launched massive search operations at 56 places across Kerala in the early hours of Thursday targeting second-rung leaders of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI). While eight PFI leaders were raided in Ernakulam, six premises in Thiruvananthapuram were on the NIA's radar. NIA started this raid at 4 am and it was going on till the time of writing this news. Let us inform you that PFI was formed in Kerala in 2006 and it also formed a political front Social Democratic Party of India in 2009.
Continuous raids on PFI bases
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) also searched three locations of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI) in Kerala in November last month. During this, an official said that this action was taken under the case related to the criminal conspiracy of PFI to carry out terrorist activities in the country.
Raid at 39 places in the country in September
According to media reports, an NIA spokesperson had said that searches were conducted at the places of suspects in Malappuram district of the state. During this, objectionable material including digital equipment and documents were recovered. Earlier on September 22, PFI bases were searched at 39 places across the country. At a distance there were 20 people who have been arrested in this case.
