Uttarakhand CM Monitors Chamoli Cloudburst After Destruction

The Tharali region of Uttarakhand has been severely impacted by a cloudburst late last night, with significant rubble entering homes and blocking roads. Multiple vehicles in the area have been buried under debris, and damage to infrastructure has been reported.

In Sagwada village, a 20-year-old girl is feared trapped under the rubble. Additionally, another individual from the village has also been reported buried under debris. Local authorities, along with teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), are actively monitoring the situation and providing assistance to ensure no further crises arise.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami condemned the cloudburst and expressed his concern for the affected residents. In a post on social media platform 'X ,CM Dhami stated,

“Late last night, a tragic report of a cloudburst was received in the Tharali area of Chamoli district. The district administration, SDRF, and police have reached the spot and are engaged in relief and rescue operations. In this regard, I am in constant contact with the local administration and am personally closely monitoring the situation. I pray to God for everyone's safety.”

Efforts are ongoing to locate the missing individuals and restore normalcy in the affected region.
