Two more arrested in Electricity Fund Scam.

Two more people have been arrested in

connection with the scam in the Provident Fund (PF) of electricity workers. The

trust's secretary P.K. Gupta's son Abhinav Gupta and his accomplice Ashish

Chaudhary were arrested in a criminal conspiracy case.

Mishra, arrested for the scam in the Provident Fund (PF), was produced before

the court from where he was sent to police remand. Along with other accused in

the scam, Sudhanshu Dwivedi and PK Gupta, were also given 3 days custodial

remand.

Significantly, this case is related to the case of about Rs

2,600 crore of Employees Provident Fund in the Department of Energy being

wrongly invested in private entity DHFL. Initial investigations by EOW revealed

that there was no tender for PF investment. 2,268 crores was invested in DHFL

through mere quotations.
