A UN official said a UN training center in Khan Yunis, Gaza's main southern city, was attacked. It was set on fire. At least nine people were killed in this incident.

Thomas White, director of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in Gaza (UNRWA), wrote on social media platform X that two tank rounds hit a building housing 800 people. At least nine people died and 75 others were injured in the attack.

He said rescue teams from UNRWA and the World Health Organization were trying to reach the centre.

Eyewitnesses said a fire broke out at the training center in the western areas of Khan Yunis due to Israeli bombardment.

He said civilians evacuated many dead and injured from the centre. The fire had engulfed a large part of the building.

Eyewitnesses said ambulances and medical teams could not reach the burning center due to the siege by Israeli forces.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli attack on UNRWA's institutions, facilities, staff, schools, shelters and equipment.
