A large crowd gathered at the prayer meeting for veteran actor Dharmendra, held on Thursday at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, Janpath, Delhi, where prominent figures from the political, social, and film fraternity offered their deepest tributes to the legendary star.
The prayer meeting, organised by Hema Malini, Esha and Bharat Takhtani, and Ahana and Vaibhav, took place on December 11, 2025, from 4 pm to 6 pm.
Dharmendra’s immense popularity and the affection he commanded nationwide were evident as several MPs and leaders from both the ruling and opposition parties attended the ceremony. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President J.P. Nadda, Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Kiren Rijiju, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and many other senior leaders were present to pay their respects.
From the film industry, Ranjeet, director Anil Sharma, and several other artists and technicians joined in remembering Dharmendra’s life and legacy.
During the ceremony, political leaders and film personalities recalled his simplicity, humility, and unforgettable contribution to Indian cinema. The emotional atmosphere reflected the collective grief, with many describing him as “a true superstar who lives in the hearts of the people.”
A large number of fans were also in attendance, offering a tearful farewell to their beloved icon.
