Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to visit India at a mutually convenient time.
The invitation was conveyed in a letter which was handed over by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla when he called on Tarique Rahman following the swearing-in ceremony at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in Dhaka on Tuesday.
In the letter, PM Modi termed the victory a testimony to the trust and confidence reposed by the people of Bangladesh in Tarique Rahman's leadership and their mandate for his vision to take the country forward on the path of peace, stability and prosperity.
PM Modi said he looked forward to working closely with Bangladesh’s new prime minister to strengthen multifaceted bilateral relations, enhance regional cooperation, and advance shared goals.
