PM Modi pays Tribute to Lokmanya Tilak on Birth Anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Lokmanya Tilak on his birth anniversary on Wednesday. 

In a post  on X

, PM Modi wrote, “Remembering Lokmanya Tilak on his birth anniversary. He was a pioneering leader who played a vital role in kindling the spirit of India’s freedom movement with unwavering conviction. He was also an outstanding thinker who believed in the power of knowledge and serving others.”

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also paid tribute to Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak on his Jayanti. He shared a post on

X

and wrote, “Remembering Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak on his Jayanti. He was a visionary leader, fearless nationalist and a firm believer in Swaraj. His words ‘Swaraj is my birthright’ ignited a movement and continue to inspire generations. My heartfelt tributes to this great son of India.”

Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak was a prominent nationalist leader and freedom fighter in India’s struggle for independence. Born in 1856, he was a key figure in awakening national consciousness and advocating for self-rule. Known for his famous slogan, “Swaraj is my birthright,” Tilak was also a social reformer and educator who inspired generations through his writings and leadership.
