14 thousand projects worth Rs 10 lakh crore will start in UP on February 19

Lucknow, 12 February. Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh is all set to launch another phase of development in the state with the Ground Breaking Ceremony (GBC) 4.0. In this, MoUs (memorandum of understanding) worth Rs 10 lakh crore involving 14 thousand projects will be presented in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Lucknow on 19 February.

These projects are expected to generate 33.50 lakh employment opportunities in the state. According to the official spokesperson, the estimated investment for GBC 4.0 is five times the cumulative investment of over Rs 2.0 lakh crore implemented in the last three groundbreaking ceremonies.

This time more than 52 percent of these projects will be started in Western Uttar Pradesh. About 29 per cent of the MoU will be implemented in the Purvanchal region, which includes the eastern parts of the state.

Apart from this, 14 percent MoU will be implemented in Madhyanchal and 5 percent MoU in Bundelkhand. These MoUs were signed at the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit-2023 held in Lucknow in February 2023.

The event on February 19 will be attended by around 3000 people including renowned industrialists, representatives of 500 companies, foreign investors, ambassadors, high commissioners and other special guests. According to the state government spokesperson, a major portion of the investment at 19.24 per cent is in the housing sector.

Besides, 15 per cent investment is in renewable energy sector, 13 per cent in manufacturing, 10 per cent in IT and IT-enabled services, 7.83 per cent in logistics and warehousing, 7.5 per cent in energy and 6.01 per cent in food processing.
