LU: Moot Court Association organised Prof. S.K. Singh Memorial National Client Counselling Competition

Prof. S.K. Singh Memorial National Client Counselling Competition, being organised by Lucknow University Moot Court Association, commenced on a grand note with the inaugural ceremony which was held on 27th August 2021 virtually via zoom from 12:00 P.M onwards. Dignitaries and renowned personalities from the legal fraternity joined the ceremony to encourage and motivate the participants and the committee.

Head and Dean Professor C.P. Singh sir whole heartedly welcomed the Chief Guest Hon'ble Justice (Retd.) K.D Shahi Sir, Allahabad High Court, the Guest of Honour Shri Neeraj Singh, senior leader in Bhartiya Janta Party and Mr. Priyanshu Kumar, Head of Legal and Corporate Advisory MP Morgan Capital Pte Ltd. , Special guests Dr. Vijay Vikram Singh, CMO, Cantt General hospital Bareilly and Cr. Vikas Vikram Singh, medical officer, Apollo Hospital, Delhi and the participants from various prestigious institutions to the competition. He remembered Professor S.K. Singh sir and his contributions. Sir also expressed the overwhelm his heart was filled with to see the alumni who have achieved big milestones in life. Sir also highlighted the importance of client counselling competition and how it benefits the students.

Dr. Vineeta Kacher ma'am, Teacher Coordinator of Lucknow University Moot Court Association, congratulated on the participation of 30 teams from various prestigious law colleges from all over India including Ram Manohar Lohia NLU Lucknow, Symbiosis Law School,Pune, Christ College, Rajiv Gandhi National University of law, Punjab and many more.

Hon'ble Justice(rtd.) K.D. Shahi Sir thanked the university for inviting him to such a unique competition. He motivated the students to participate in more such competitions and enlightened us on the relationship between client and counsellor. He guided the students on what qualities an individual should posses to become an excellent lawyer and excel in the field which is trust, honesty, proper language and utmost respect towards the court. He gave advice to the budding lawyers that they should have a feeling of service towards the society. Sir congratulated the committee for organising such an event which is different from the conventional studies and gave best wishes to the participants.

Mr Priyanshu Kumar, the Guest of Honour for the inaugural event thanked the committee for organising the event and inviting him for the same, his words were filled with nostalgia while he remembered his days of college at Lucknow University and how the university has contributed in his success and achievements. Sir highlighted how this Client Counselling is necessary in the corporate world and in the Litigation field.

Special Guest Dr. Vijay Vikram Singh Sir Expressed his gratitude towards the committee for organising the events in the name of S.K. Singh Sir. He shared with the participants the teachings of sir, one of which he remembers the most, which also applies in his medical field, is to never think or do wrong to anybody.

The event was concluded by Khushi Jain, one of the members of Lucknow University Moot Court Association, who expressed her gratitude towards all the dignitaries, Head and Dean sir, Vineeta maam, and wished all the participants success in the competition.
