ANCHOR: A man involved in illegal border crossing was injured in police firing at the India-Bangladesh border in Sribhumi. The incident occurred yesterday morning during a search operation conducted by the police.
The accused, identified as Dilwar Hussain, allegedly tried to snatch a carbine from the police. In the scuffle, constable Mrityunjay Das sustained injuries. Subsequently, the accused was shot while attempting to escape police custody.
