Trump to make second UK state visit in September

U.S. President Donald Trump is scheduled to make a historic second state visit to the UK in September, following a formal invitation from King Charles III.

The invitation was extended through a letter delivered by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer during his visit to the Oval Office in February.

President Trump will be accompanied by his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, on the two-day trip from September 17 to 19.

Trump fondly recalls his last state visit to Britain in 2019, when he was hosted by Queen Elizabeth II.

During that visit, the Queen held a lavish banquet at Buckingham Palace and presented him with a royal artillery salute.
