The Department of Political Science, BBAU organised a special lecture by Prof. Upendra Choudhary (Department of Political Science, AMU, Aligarh) on 02/05/2025 on the topic "Is IR a Global Discipline? Views from the Periphery". All the faculty members and students of Department of Political Science attended the same and were greatly benefited by the in depth lecture delivered by Prof. Choudhury.
He spoke on the relevance of civilisational state like India in redefining the concept of nation-state in International Relations and Political Science.
The contribution of ancient Indian philosophers like Kautilya, along with other developing countries like Latin America and Central as well as South Asia in the evolution of International Relations is immense and needs to be studied as well as recognised instead of the excessive focus on Eurocentric and Western concepts like balance of power and realism.
