The 6th edition of the International Symposium Fusões no Cinema (Fusions on Film)

6th International Symposium "Fusion on Film" The 6th edition of the International Symposium "Fusões no Cinema"("Fusion on Film"), happening on November 26th and 27th, in Coimbra and Ponte de Lima (Portugal), aims to explore the dynamics of the relations between two major fields in film studies: art and education.

In this Symposium, the cinema will be subject to a double look: as an art-synthesis; and, as a material to other arts, such as literature. The film will also be treated as a means and pedagogical tool, in a context where distance learning and teleworking have become crucial structures for the society we live in. In short, it will serve as a space for reflection on the artistic and educational role of cinema. The Symposium is aimed at the general public, to those who are interested in the subject of the film, and all agents involved in the field of art, education, and culture. Our invitation is especially directed to all educators and teachers who use Film as an educational tool in their classes.

Caminhos and Universidade Aberta (UAb) are accepting proposals for paper abstracts, in Portuguese, English, or Spanish (Castilian), that do not exceed 500 words, in the themes regarding relations between Film, Education and the Arts. All proposals will be subject to a double peer review, and the most relevant papers will be presented at the Symposium, published in the scientific journal "Fusões no Cinema" ("Fusion onFilm") (ISSN 2184-805X).

The scientific journal also will be accepting articles regarding cinephilia, with reviews on film and film literature, and technical articles, highlighting production methods and technology's contribution in film production.
