Defending champions India secured their place in the final of the ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup with a nine-wicket win over England in the semi-final in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.

England got off to a strong start, but India’s bowlers turned the game around, restricting them to 113 in their allotted 20 overs.

In response, India made light work of the chase, reaching the target in just 15 overs to book their place in the second consecutive final of the tournament.

India raced to 44 runs in the powerplay without losing a wicket. Kamalini Gunalan scored an unbeaten 56 to guide her side home.

In the other semi-final, South Africa advanced to the final following an impressive five-wicket victory over Australia in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.

The Proteas restricted Australia to just 105 runs for the loss of 8 wickets and cruised past that target with 11 deliveries remaining. They were helped by some excellent batting from Jemma Botha and Kayla Reyneke.

South Africa will face India in the final on Sunday.
