Rehan Ahmed stopped at Rajkot airport due to visa related problem

England cricket team players once again had to face problems due to visa. This time a case related to leg spinner Rehan Ahmed has come to light. Due to lack of proper paperwork, he was not allowed to leave the airport with the team. He was returning from Abu Dhabi with his team.

Due to the long break between the second and third Tests, the England team went to Abu Dhabi to spend time with their families.

Sources said, Rehan was stopped from coming to India on Monday. The England team had gone to Abu Dhabi due to the mid-series break. While returning from there, Rehan was stopped because he had only a single-entry visa.

The report said that with the help of local authorities, Ahmed was granted a two-day visa as soon as possible and the remaining paperwork would be completed in time before the start of the match.

Rehan has so far taken eight wickets at an average of 36.37 and scored 70 runs in the first two Tests of the series, including an innings of 23 runs at No. 3 in the second Test.

The issue has come up at a time when Shoaib Bashir's India tour was postponed by a week a few weeks ago due to delay in issuing visa, due to which he could not play the first Test in Hyderabad.

England won the opening Test in Hyderabad by 28 runs, while India bounced back with a 106-run win in Visakhapatnam.

The five-match Test series is currently tied at 1-1. The third Test will start from Thursday in Rajkot.
