Police in Germany were examining "vast quantities" of digital media on Thursday after carrying out a series of searches relating to child pornography in the eastern city of Halle.
A police spokesman said that that a large haul of computer media had been found during the raids. Prohibited weapons and small quantities of illegal drugs were also seized. The confiscated items are now gradually being viewed, analysed and forensically examined.
No arrests were made during the searches, but several people were taken to the police station, processed, and then released, the spokesman said. Three children were also questioned.
Search warrants had previously been issued by the local court against more than 10 named suspects. Around 100 police officers were deployed in the operation.
