Istanbul authorities have announced extensive traffic and transportation restrictions for the May 1 Labor and Solidarity Day celebrations on Thursday, implementing heightened security measures across key areas of the city.

According to an official statement from the governor’s office, major labor unions in the city will organize separate rallies, with gatherings planned at Kadikoy Waterfront Square and Kartal Square.

To ensure public safety and manage the movement of participants, Istanbul has put in place a comprehensive transportation plan that will significantly impact travel across the city.

The measures include the closure of key metro stations, suspension of ferry services between the European and Asian sides, and the blockage of major roads in central districts.
