The long-awaited first multiplex in Kashmir is expected to open today following Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha's inauguration. In Srinagar, an INOX-designed multiplex will soon open, giving Kashmiris their first opportunity in more than three decades to see movies on a huge screen.

An official previously stated that three sizable auditoriums with a combined seating capacity of more than 500 people have been created in the multiplex. The Dolby Atmos digital sound system has been installed in the auditorium, providing the audience with surround sound to enjoy movies to their fullest.

The "papier mache" and "khatamband" Kashmiri handicrafts, which stand out, have been used in the theatre. According to the spokesperson, a food court is also being created for visitors to the multiplex.Vijay Dhar, the project's chairman, has stated that the youth should have access to the same amenities in the theatre as they do outside of Kashmir. "We discovered that there had not been anything of the sort in this location for thirty years. We reasoned, "Why not?" Thus, we have just begun.

The same amenities that young people receive in Jammu or other American cities should be available to them in the theatre "added he.Dhar claimed that because Kashmiris have long experienced mental stress, it is crucial for them to have access to multiplexes for entertainment.

Notably, J-K was a favourite vacation spot for filmmakers, but this changed as a result of the 1990s insurgency in the area.

The official claimed that the villagers frequently went to the movies earlier and wished for the Valley to return to its previous state of peace and brotherhood.

Three years after Jammu and Kashmir's removal from the scope of Article 370, a multiplex is being built in Kashmir, a region that has long been the target of terrorists from across the border. Notably, the Valley's theatres had closed in 1990 as a result of the uptick in militancy.

Project manager Vishaq stated to ANI earlier in August, "We are opening the first INOX-designed multiplex in Kashmir. The most modern sound systems are installed in three auditoriums. There is a silver screen in use. Additionally, regular chairs and recliners are offered."
