The ₹864-crore expansion and modernisation project of the Civil Enclave at Jammu Airport is progressing as scheduled, with nearly 70 per cent of the construction work completed.
Jammu Airport Director Devender Yadav shared the details while briefing a visiting media delegation from Bhopal. He said the project involves a large-scale expansion of the airport, anchored by a state-of-the-art New Terminal Building, and is expected to be completed by November 2026.
The project is expected to significantly strengthen Jammu and Kashmir’s aviation infrastructure and improve regional air connectivity, providing enhanced facilities for passengers and supporting the region’s growing travel and economic needs.
The visiting media delegation also toured the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, where Assistant Director Jatinder Paul Singh briefed them on the industrial growth recorded in Jammu Division.
He informed that the division has attracted ₹13,391 crore in industrial investment, generating nearly 50,000 employment opportunities under the New Central Sector Scheme.
The developments in the aviation and industrial sectors are expected to contribute to improved connectivity, investment and employment opportunities in the Jammu region.
