PM Modi Tells Students To Challenge Themselves But Not Take Exam Pressure
Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with students on various topics, including nutrition, managing pressure, and leadership, during the eighth edition of his annual event, ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha,’ on Monday.
Modi emphasized that knowledge and examinations are not the same. He advised students not to view exams as the ultimate measure of success in life.
In a vibrant session with students from different states and Union Territories across the country, the Prime Minister encouraged them to explore their passions and not feel confined to conventional paths.
He urged students to manage their time effectively and plan their activities for better outcomes. During the discussion, he touched on themes such as "Master your time, master your life," "Live in the moment," "Finding positives," and "Nourish to flourish," while addressing various questions from the students.
This time, Modi opted for a more informal setting by taking around 35 students to Sunder Nursery, allowing for a deeper and more relaxed conversation, deviating from the traditional town hall format.
He urged parents not to use their children as sources of pride or comparison against others, stressing the need for support instead. The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of good sleep and reassured students that their lives would not be ruined if they did not achieve high marks in exams.
Modi advised students on managing pressure, comparing it to how batters focus on the next pitch in a stadium despite the noise from the crowd. He encouraged them to concentrate on their studies instead of succumbing to exam-related stress.
However, he also motivated them to challenge themselves and strive to improve upon their previous results. He stressed the significance of proper nutrition and meditation as well.
When discussing leadership, Modi noted that people often take cues from the behavior of leaders, stating that mere speeches are not enough to inspire. In this year’s sessions of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha,’ well-known personalities such as actor Deepika Padukone, boxer MC Mary Kom, and spiritual leader Sadhguru have shared their experiences and insights with students on important aspects of life and learning.
