DRDO Successfully Tests Pinaka LRGR-120

DRDO successfully conducted the maiden flight test of the Pinaka Long Range Guided Rocket with a range of 120 km, a major boost to India’s indigenous rocket artillery capability.

: Marking a major milestone in India’s indigenous rocket artillery programme, the Defence Research and Development Organisation on Monday successfully conducted the maiden flight test of the Pinaka Long Range Guided Rocket (LRGR–120) at the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur.

The rocket was tested for its maximum range of 120 kilometres, demonstrating all planned in-flight manoeuvres. The LRGR impacted the target with textbook precision. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO on the achievement, stating that the successful design and development of long-range guided rockets will enhance the capabilities of the Armed Forces and described it as a game-changer.
