External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is visiting Cyprus to participate in the Informal Meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Ministers. S. Jaishankar arrived at the venue in Lemesos at the invitation of Vice President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas.
The meeting will be conducted in the Gymnich format, which takes place once every six months and provides the opportunity for more open discussion and reflection on key issues, including the current and the regional ones.
Ahead of attending the meeting, EAM Jaishankar met Kaja Kallas. The two leaders discussed India-EU cooperation and the situation in West Asia. Jaishankar also held a good meeting with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin-Farhan and appreciated his assessments and insights on the evolving situation in West Asia.
A useful meeting was also held between EAM Jaishankar and Ukrainian FM Andrii Sybiha. They exchanged views on the Ukraine conflict and also discussed bilateral cooperation.
