University of Lucknow under DST-PURSE scheme is going to organise an International Conference on Diverse Emerging Materials and their Applications (ICDEMA-2021) on 14 and 15 March, 2021. The international event will be organised under the able leadership of the Head, Department of Physics, Prof. Poonam Tandon who is the Chairperson of the conference while the Convener of this Conference is Prof. Balak Das. The Chairperson of this International conference Prof. Tandon, told that this is the first Hybrid conference of its kind in which the first day of the conference will be conducted in offline mode and the second and final day will be convened in online manner. In University of Lucknow, this is the first conference after COVID-19 pandemic in which delegates from seven different states are coming and actively participating in all the offline and online deliberations.
Nationally as well as internationally recognised researchers and scientists from India and abroad will be delivering lectures in the exhaustive academic sessions. Prof. Tandon informed that Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, University of Lucknow will be giving presidential address in the Conference and Prof. Prafulla K. Jha from MS University, Baroda will be the Chief Guest in the inaugural function of the conference. The experts who are coming deliver lectures on recent development in the area of materials science will be from Vadodara, Varanasi, Allahabad, New Delhi, Merrut, Patna, Roorkee, Noida and Lucknow.
Prof. Tandon said that on the first day of the conference being conducted in offline mode will be having four sessions which will be having Keynote address by the Chief Guest of the inaugural function. In addition, fourteen invited lectures by eminent researchers in the area of materials science as well as six invited lectures by young scientists will delivered in the academic sessions.
Prof. Tandon informed that the second day of the conference will be organised in online mode through ZOOM application. There will be six online academic sessions on the second day which will be inculcating key-note address by Prof. Michael T. Ruggiero, University of Vermont, eight invited lectures by researchers and seven invited lectures by young scientists and thirteen oral presentations from the PhD and postdoctoral students. Prof. Tandon said that this conference will create curiosity amongst the young researchers as well as students from different discipline and will create zeal amongst all the delegates participating in the conference to work actively in the area of materials science.
