Google's big step to protect from online fraud, deleted more than 2200 fake apps from Play Store
New Delhi, 08 February. With the increase in internet usage in the last few years, cases of online fraud and scams have also increased rapidly. Scammers are now resorting to fake loan apps to defraud people. Many online users are unable to recognize fake apps and get trapped in fraud. Now Google has taken strict action on this. Google has once again removed many apps from the Play Store.

A report has revealed that Google has removed more than 2200 fake loan apps from the Google Play Store between September 2022 and August 2023. In response to a question in Parliament, Minister of State for Finance Bhagwat Karad informed how the government is working with CRCC to crack down on fake loan apps. Earlier, Google had reviewed 3500 to 4000 apps between April 2021 and July 2022 and after this about 2500 apps were removed with immediate effect.
Along with taking action against fake loan apps, the company has also made major changes in its policy. Now only those apps will get entry on Google Apps which are regulated entities or in collaboration with these entities.
